Privacy Policy
Wisp is a voice-driven assistant for your computer, available at heywisp.ai and as a desktop app for Mac and Windows. This policy explains what Wisp collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email wispaisupport@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile those services share (name and email). We use this to sign you in and keep your data with your account.
- What you say and type to Wisp. Your voice requests and typed messages, so Wisp can answer and act on them. Voice recordings are turned into text and are not kept after that.
- Things you ask Wisp to keep. Memory and preferences, to-do lists, courses and learning history, and game and farm progress. These are stored with your account so they follow you to other devices.
- Usage and billing. How much of your plan's allowance you've used, your plan, and your subscription status. Payments are handled by Stripe; Wisp never sees or stores your card number.
- Usage stats. While you're signed in, the app notes when it opens (app version and computer type), when you make a request (spoken or typed, how long it took, whether it worked) and which of Wisp's tools were used. These stats never include what you said or typed, what's on your screen, file names, or anything a tool read or wrote. You can turn them off in Menu, Privacy, Share usage stats.
- Data from apps you connect. Only if you choose to connect them: Google Calendar, Gmail, Slack, HubSpot, Linear or GitHub. See "Connected apps" below.
- On-screen content, only when you allow it. If you give Wisp screen access, she can look at your screen to help with what you ask. Screenshots are used for that request and are not stored by us.
How we use it
We use your information only to provide Wisp's features to you: answering your requests, taking the actions you ask for, keeping your memory and settings in sync, metering your plan, providing support, and understanding which features people use and what they cost us to run, so we can improve Wisp. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your data from connected apps to build profiles or train AI models.
Who we share it with
Wisp relies on a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf, only to run Wisp:
- Anthropic (Claude), which generates Wisp's answers. The content of your request, and any connected-app data Wisp needs to answer it, is sent to Anthropic to produce a reply. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data is not used to train their models.
- ElevenLabs, which produces Wisp's voice and transcribes recordings in some languages.
- Supabase, which hosts accounts, stored data and Wisp's server functions. Data is encrypted at rest.
- Stripe, which processes payments.
If you use your own Anthropic or ElevenLabs key, your requests go from the app directly to that provider under your own account with them. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Connected apps
When you connect an app, you approve the access on that app's own permission screen, and you can disconnect at any time in Wisp or in that app's account settings. The access tokens that let Wisp act for you are kept on our servers, locked so that only Wisp's server functions can use them, and are deleted when you disconnect.
- Google Calendar lets Wisp read your calendars and create, change or delete events when you ask, for example to tell you what's coming up or add a meeting.
- Gmail lets Wisp search and read your mail, write, send and save drafts, and archive, label, star or move messages to Trash when you ask. Wisp cannot permanently delete mail or change your Gmail settings.
- Slack, HubSpot, Linear and GitHub let Wisp read and act on your data in those apps when you ask.
Content from connected apps is fetched when a request needs it and is not stored by Wisp beyond what you explicitly ask to keep (for example, a to-do you create from an email).
Google user data
Wisp's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features you use in Wisp.
- We transfer it only as needed to provide those features (to Anthropic, to generate the reply you asked for), for security, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with your notice.
- We do not use it for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to train or improve generalized AI or machine learning models.
- No person at Wisp reads your Google data unless you ask us to for support, it is needed for security or legal reasons, or it has been aggregated and anonymized.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. You can delete memories, lists and other saved items in the app at any time. If you delete your account, we delete your stored data and connected-app tokens within 30 days, except billing records we must keep by law.
Your choices
- Disconnect any connected app in Wisp, or revoke Wisp's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions for Google.
- Turn off microphone or screen access in your computer's privacy settings.
- Turn off usage stats in Wisp: Menu, Privacy, Share usage stats.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account by emailing wispaisupport@gmail.com.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored encrypted at rest. Secrets such as provider keys and connected-app tokens are kept on the server and never shipped inside the app.
Children
Wisp is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app or by email for significant changes.
